Let's see....
Movies: I highly recommend _When Night is Falling_. It's very
romatic, and an excellent movie to curl up with when one is feeling
slightly weepy.
_Spellbound_ is a documentary about US spelling bees, and made most of
the audience cheer when I saw it, which is always a good sign.
_Waking Life_ is good, too, but will mess with your head.
Music: currently in heavy rotation...
Belle and Sebastian -- they have a new one out, but if you're not
familiar with they're stuff, I'd suggest starting with _the Boy with
the Arab Strap_, (arguably) their best album.
Stars -- they're a Canadian band, which will probably make them tough
to find. They're a bit uneven at times, but when they're good,
they're really good. Songs to look for: Elevator Love Letter, Heart,
Death to Death, Going going gone, and they do a rather trippy cover of
This Charming Man that's worth a listen or two.
