ah, good! glad to hear that i'm not going insane. i've only listened to
tales once (yeah, i know, bad woj) and that dampened sound jumped out at
me too. very strange. especially since the individual sounds are often
quite clear and distinct

the other thing i remember noticing is a wider stereo separation...hmmm.
