Midismart keyboard query

I have purchased a Midismart mini keyboard to use in conjunction with
Sonar XL.  The keyboard functions well but when I try to record with
it in Sonar there is a latency as I hit the keys.  All the drivers are
correct and updated.  Does anyone know what might be wrong?
