>>Eric Clapton - Slowhand(15) def. Robert Gordon & Link Wray - Robert Gordon & Link Wray(14) >Yuck, what a revolting result this is. What people see in this Clapton snoozer of an album is beyond me. > Well, what I see in Slowhand is; "Cocaine" has a great groove and some great guitar work."Wonderful Tonight" is a nice ballad. Although the song is simple, the notes seem just right and E.C. doesn't overplay. The country flavor of "Lay Down Sally" is a nice change. "The Core" just rocks. I love hearing E.C. jam out like this. Kinda wish he did more of it. >>Ramones - Leave Home(15) def. Fleetwood Mac - Rumours(14) >Ding dong, the witch is dead!! This about makes up for the Clapton atrocity. To each his own I quess. The Ramones album is decent. I don't dislike it. The result isn't a shock, but it is disappointing. There are a ton of punk fans in this newsgroup. In reading some of their comments, I see that for some, their pompousity hasn't wavered since '77. That is even more disappointing. . Peace
