Bruce, you're way off. Thorogood was touring all this year, and the only place he played in this area was BB King's Blues Club in New York, which holds less than 1000 people. Newman played both the McCarter Theater in Princeton and Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall, both of which are in the same area capacity-wise. I don't have the attendance numbers, but there's no way that Thorogood's show drew anything close to ten times what Newman drew. In LA, Newman played the 1600-seat Cerritos Center For The Performing Arts; Thorogood played the Hollywood House Of Blues which seats 1000. At best you can make the case that they're at about the same, although I suspect most artists would choose to play at concert halls like Newman over theme restaurants like Thorogood. Just because the Relic Records shoppers aren't into Newman doesn't mean he doesn't have a following.
