You keep prattling on and on about your "pop vs. rock & roll" obsession, and yet no one's even entertaining the subject except you. Find the post where anyone claimed Newman was "rock & roll." Again, quoting you..."who gives a fuck?" You're arguing with yourself. > I'm glad George was able to knock out that long forgotten Voidoids album, > and > only sorry that he got such a tough matchup in the following round with an > album (Costello) that might just win this thing. > > I wonder if Richard Hell & his guys are still touring, and whether or not > they have a recording contract. > I would guess not, seeing as how they NEVER charted any record in the U.S. or > the U.K. in their entire (albeit very short) career. > > Apparently Mike G. seems to think that RH and the Voidoids were some > important part of musical history for some reason. > > The only thing anybody will ever remember them for is the preposterous name > of the group. The above is just shallow trolling, and not worth a serious response. Have you even *heard* the album, or are you going to write it off purely because you can't find it in your sacred Billboard reference books? And by the way, that Voidoids album isn't any major favorite of mine. It definitely wouldn't be in my top 10 of 1977, and it might not even be in my top 20. But against Thorogood, sure, it's no contest for me.
