No, but I can see how kids would latch on to that song as a very
appropriate connection.

Regarding another artist, recall reading in '58 that Chuck Willis
recorded his two-sided smash in anticipation of his demise, and that
he was something of a fatalist who idolized Johnny Ace.

Current info on the Internet seems to play that down, i.e., that
despte his illness, he wasn't expecting to depart imminently.
