    I remember that, and seem to recall the old king's sons were Frank
Porretta and Richard Torigi.

Altold, how many operas were presented in this series?  (Definitely a
forerunner of PBS' Great Performances.)

"In the late '50s to early '60s, they had some fine productions. One I'd
particularly like to see on video or DVD is an English-language version
of Don Giovanni (from about '59, -- my first viewing of this opera),
with Siepi, Price, Pease, Raskin, and Charles K.L. Davis. First-rate on
all counts!
