Hello there, my name is Daniel Patrick Quinn, I run a small experimental/avant garde record label based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Thought you might be interested in the following: Regards, Daniel. SUILVEN RECORDINGS NEWS OCTOBER 2003 October 27th saw the release of "Harmundum", a profoundly moving 56 minute long work by the American electro-acoustic ambient composer DAC Crowell. ""Harmundum" explores what might happen if milliseconds became minutes in the course of a work. The work is actually based on a rather pedestrian chord progression, one which many of us hear variations on every day of our lives without considering what might be within them. But instead of passing in seconds, this mundane series of chords is extended out...magnified, as if viewed through some sort of temporal microscope. And just like we give a substance as mundane as water no second thoughts, yet when we view a drop of it under a microscope we find whole worlds within this minute drop, this work subjects a very mundane harmonic world to that same examination in the mind's eye. And just as in that water drop, the imagination conjures up the repeating cadences of harmonics, hidden scales and patterns locked within what should be a swiftly passing chord, progressions within progressions...a world within the harmony." DAC Crowell. Promo copies for review and airplay are now available, so please get in touch if you're a broadcaster/reviewer. An MP3 segment can be found on the website www.suilvenrecordings.com as can further information on this and other Suilven releases. The CD is eight pounds including postage to anywhere on the planet. DAC Crowell is available for interviews either by email or phone. Please get in touch with me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] and I will be able to arrange things. I am also looking to take part in any promotional activities on behalf of the label as a whole. Suilven Recordings is now based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Daniel Patrick Quinn. www.suilvenrecordings.com
