bummer about having to give up your Atlantic Paul Kriwaczek wrote: > > I have come down to two: > Excelsior 1272, or Fisitalia 34.45. Have personally sampled both brands smaller sizes during visits to CastleFi, and can state with certainty that either will give you a good, solid accordion as well as your moneys worth. The Excelsior is a tried and true design, many models in continuous production for a handfull of decades - and even the small ones sound like an Excelsior and play nicely. the FisItalia will give you options, as they are a smaller company and more able to respond to special requests. You would be able to get them to price it with a better reed, for instance, and if you say "put a couple hundred more labor into the action" thay can say yes and add more felt, fit and finish. (and you can go pick it up in person) I suppose since you were MIDI'd you've considered the reedless and rejected it? BYT... have you considered just pulling the Bass reed-blocks out to lighten the Atlantic? and just play MIDI bass Ciao Ventura
