Hi folks, Recent surgery forces me reluctantly to give up my MIDIfied Hohner Atlantic, as I can no longer bear its weight, even when sitting. I shall have to go back to a 72 bass. But I want something a little better than the Hohner Student 72 that I started on. I don't play folk music or polka, but swing era standards and what little jazz improvisation my lack of virtuosity allows. So my preference is for an accordion with a rich rather than reedy tone, more vox Hammond than vox humana.Best of all would be an instrument tuned LMH, but in a 72 bass that would seem to be vanishingly rare. I know that by restricting myself to 72 basses, I am limiting the field of choice. However, looking back over previous posts describing various makes and brands does suggest several possibilities. I have come down to two: Excelsior 1272, or Fisitalia 34.45. Ideally I should tour the shops and dealers, trying out as many different instruments as possible. But that's not really a practical option, given the distances even in a small country like the UK. Perhaps some of the experienced players, dealers or re-sellers in this group could make me a recommendation? Thanks, Paul (Oh, and if anyone is interested in buying my Atlantic IV, with internal mikes and MIDI, recently tuned and still under guarantee...) -- Paul Kriwaczek [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.kriwaczek.com
