Jazz Reeds?

Hi everyone! I was just going to ask your opinions on a reed question!
I play a Tenor and used to play on Rico Royals until I discovered the
wonders of 3-strength V16's. My school band director (A saxophone specialist
and also my private tenor teacher) has tried V16's and prefers Javas because
they last longer. I do notice that my V16's wear out very fast [Usually one
week of optimium playing, if that] and cost may soon become an issue.  I was
wondering if any of you guys agree that Java's can last longer? Can any of
you that have played on both describe the differences for me?
