Personally I'd say BETTER than a taiko! As far as I know most taiko drums have those nailed on heads. I always prefer a tuneable head. Also cool are the Remo taikos. Capital University over here has a huge HERD of them! VERY nice. They have Nuskyn heads and sound great! I don't think they are cheap though.
