Anyone taken the time to convert jazz standards into chordpro format? Chordpro is a format for describing progressions, usually used by guitar players to put the chords on top of the lyrics. There is a palm application, called songbook, for viewing chordpro files. I want to be able to have my fakebooks with me. I have the realbook in Band In A Box format. But that doesn't help me when I'm away from my laptop. So I'm either going to try to write a conversion utility, or I might just type in the progressions for my favorites. Two disclaimers: 1) yes I should memorize the standards instead, but, unfortunately, I've been cursed with a bad memory. 2) No copyright violations if there's no melody or lyrics. -- John
