I've said it before, I think the Layla album is thin crappy tone. It sounds like a little amp with no balls and fizzy speaker breakup. I don't like that tone. And I like a lot of various different tones, not all Gibson/Marshall, but I don't think the Layla album tone is good. A few songs on that album were better than others, but I'm not a big fan of the tone of that album.
