Swapped out the PV sheffiled speaker for a 75 watt celestion and got some JJ tubes from www.eurotubes.com but, yeah, it sounds good right outta the box too. the clean especially. The raunch channel is alright, certainly groovy for an audition or a jam, but for gigs, i get all my dirt and scream out of pedals and such. sometimes these amps, after you work them to death, start rattling. some guys call it the "tube rattle of death syndrome". Our producer liked mine so much he wanted me to use it on our CD but we got it into the studio and sure enough, it rattled like hell thru the mics. Live, cant really tell..... part of the charm maybe ;-)
