I'd agree with that. This is just another form of communication. In a medium
that exists as words only, one will be judged by whatever's contained in the
words one chooses to put forth. So I think it's reasonable to deduce that
someone who's a habitual jerk on a newsgroup is probably a jerk in real
life. In face-to-face interaction, they may modify their style of jerkiness
(e.g., from belligerent to passive/aggressive) to avoid getting jacked up on
a regular basis, but their overall JQ (jerk quotient) is probably about the
same.
