The Cambridge (MA) Center for Adult Education sponsors a Renaissance Music Ensemble class, which meets on Wednesday evenings from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. The meeting location, which is only a block from the nearest Red Line “T” station, has free onsite parking, and is wheelchair accessible. Appropriate instruments for the Renaissance Ensemble (played at intermediate or higher level) include recorder, Renaissance flute, Renaissance reeds, Renaissance brass (sackbut, cornetto, serpent), viol, lute, and guitar. Class members who would like to sing or to play percussion will have a chance to do that, also. The group will rehearse a group of Renaissance instrumental and vocal pieces, applying Renaissance performance practice to them, and performing them at the last meeting in a *private* concert for *invited* guests. This concert will be followed by a party for the performers and their guests. The Winter term class will begin on Wednesday, September 24. The end-of-term concert is scheduled for Wednesday, December 3, with a "snow date" of Wednesday, December 10. There is a tuition fee of $150 for the ten sessions of the Renaissance Music Ensemble. Some scholarship assistance is available from the Cambridge Center. People can register for the Renaissance Music Ensemble (code MSRN) in person at the Cambridge Center, 42 Brattle Street, Cambridge, or with a credit card, by phone (617-547-6789), by fax (617-497-7532), or even by E-mail ([EMAIL PROTECTED]). The Cambridge Center is on the web at <http://www.ccaae.org>, and it is now possible to register online through their web site. Those who have questions about the group may phone the Cambridge Center for the instructor's telephone number, or reply by E-mail to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>. E-mail replies will be forwarded to the instructor. ----- Posted via NewsOne.Net: Free (anonymous) Usenet News via the Web ----- http://newsone.net/ -- Free reading and anonymous posting to 60,000+ groups NewsOne.Net prohibits users from posting spam.
