I had some around for nearly a year, in my wood shop, not even coated on the ends, and when I split it, it was still wet. The ends didn't check at all. I even put a chunk in my wood burning heater, on top of a other burning wood for a couple hours and never even charred the edges. I just figured that was how willow always was. Jim L
