I can afford a few dollars, but I can't affort too many years of waiting. Then again, I have to admit that if I did buy a fiddle for that price I would probably have to play it on the street in the hope of making enough money to eat with! Actually, I am as addicted to making fiddles as playing them. Right now I am engaged in stuffing video equipment in an RC airplane, which is also fun. Maybe next trip to Vermont I will get the chance to look at some more wood and get back to working on violins. But I will bring an airplane to toss off some of the local hills, and maybe fly full size gliders up around Sugharbush. I guess one of the differences between someone like Martin Schleske and me is that Martin and people like him manage to have one overwhelming interest in life and I keep orbiting between several lifelong passions. This is not to say that I could be as good as Martin, but it is to say that I will probably never give myself the chance since I am more like Frog in Wind in the Willows. Pete
