Funny thing, I just bought the very same bass, same
options (although mine is translucent red) NEW from a music store for
$1100. This wasn't a sale or anything, maybe you got hosed when you bought
yours.
Rocco
I
have a near mint Ernie Ball Musicman Sterling bass - Fretless!! It has
several custom options which were factory ordered
including
Custom Vintage Sunburst color
upgrade Matching headstock option
Tortoise pickguard upgrade Pau-ferro Inlaid lined
fretless board upgrade Side markers
options
The above options alone cost close to $500!!! Plus all
the standard stuff (i..e Maple neck, 3 band Active EQ, parallel/series/single
coil pickup options, etc..)
The bass is in EXCELLENT condition save for
one small nick at the top of the headstock - Other than that - pretty much
show ready! I have never gigged with it, and the fretboard has literally
only seen a few hours of use from me. Original Case in good condition as
well.
You won't find a bass like this - especially with all
these options!!! The sound is AMAZING - Incredible tonal combinations with
the active EQ and pickup selection. The neck is slightly thiner than the
stingray - which makes it super, super fast to play! I always found the
stingray to be a little to wide for may hands - the Sterling is
perfect!
If you've never played a fretless bass before - This is the
one to try. If you're not sure if you want a fretless - not to worry - the
fret lines (and dot markers!) are there as well to guide your finger
placement. It's the best of both worlds. Play it either as a fretless, or as a
fretted bass!
I can email detailed pics. I am on EBAY (jimkarl) so
check out my rating and feel secure buying from someone who has done over 600
positive transactions.
This Bass cost over $1800 new (and
retails around $2200) - Will sell for just about half that at $950 plus
S&H&I (actual cost - your choice of carriers/service) A plain vanilla
Sterling - without ANY of the options listed on mine - sells new for $1200.
This is a deal.
I take Personal checks, Money orders, Cashiers
checks, Bidpay, and Paypal (only the direct transfer type like from a checking
account or online funds - not setup to process credit cards though - maybe
some day:)
Look around the net - you won't find one with all these
options - and anything remotely close will cost AT LEAST $1200-$1300
used and won't have all these options - I guarentee it!
