Browsing through MIL I came across another fantastic score by Jonson .. this guys never ceases to amaze me; really creative tunes!! Especially check out the heavenly Yesudas song in the movie Chinthavishtayaya Shyamala: http://www.musicindiaonline.com/music/l/VV00020E I have no idea how old this movie is, I find serene timelessness in Jonson's music! Some distinctive features of his compositions include consistently rich interludes with heavy reliance on Indian musical instruments (flute, violins, veena and mridangam are dominant) and a certain sense of "phursat" in the tunes. The latter would be somewhat analogous to (to steal Pradeep's analogy when describing Salil) taking the scenic route instead of the freeway to get to work. :) Enjoy! Ramesh Hariharan p.s. I would also recommend listening to Ee Puzhayum Kadannu: http://www.musicindiaonline.com/music/l/VV000401 ps2: RMIM'ers .. pl. do not reply to my hotmail email account above. I never check it ... that's basically my junk mail address.
