About 40 years ago I bought a Dushkin alto recorder intending to learn to play. It didn't happen and the Dushkin has been in a drawer since then. Now, with more maturity and common sense, I am finally taking lessons and am on my way to much belated enjoyment. I would appreciate some information on the Dushkin alto recorder. Dushkin history, where it sits in the recorder hierarchy -- any thing. It appears to be rosewood, comparing it to the Dolmetsch site wood examples. Only marking is "Dushkin, USA" on the head. I have done several internet searches and only found that David Dushkin made recorders in the ‘50s or 60's. I bought mine about 1960 for about $25. It sounds a bit rough, probably due to my lack of ability and having sat in that drawer for so long. I understand it will require a break-in period. Any other precautions I should take? Thanks for any help you can provide. Jerry Walker
