     their debut on Chicago's WMAQ. For those keeping score, "Kukla"
     (Russian for "doll") is an bald puppet with a big nose, human "Fran"
     is a "a pretty girl, someone who preferably could sing," and "Ollie"
     is short for Oliver J. Dragon, who come to think of it was rather
     short himself, being a puppet and all.

  In 2002, 1 year ago, the movie "It's a Very Muppet Christmas Movie"

  In 1938, Tommy Dorsey and his Orchestra recorded "Hawaiian War Chant"
     for Victor Records.  Spike Jones and His City Slickers destroyed it
     decades later.
  In 1944, Spike Jones and His City Slickers with Carl Grayson on vocals
     recorded "Cocktails For Two", Spike's second gold record.  The
     original song was featured by the smooth Danish film star crooner
     Carl Brissen in the 1934 film called "Murder at the Vanity".
  In 1952, "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" by Jimmy Boyd entered the Top
     40 chart.
  In 1986, R.C., "Weird Al" Yankovic's album POLKA PARTY peaked at #177 on

     singles chart.
  In 1989, "Love Shack" single by B-52's was certified Gold by the RIAA
  In 2001, 2 years ago, former Beatles lead guitarist George Harrison died
     of cancer at age 58 at a friend's home in Los Angeles, California.
     With his death, there remain two surviving Beatles, Paul McCartney
     and Ringo Starr.  John Lennon was shot to death in New York City by a
     deranged fan in 1980.
