Look, why do some people think that speaking up for things, in this case jazz, that has history is clinging desperately to the past. If someones has values that trancends time and place, Armstrong, Ellington, Parker, Coletrane, Evans ect, why should they not be embraced and celebrated, just like classical music? Especially, as in this case, when the artists still have room for selfexpression. The "Too many notes..." line is exactly why the industry came up with marketing smooth as jazz, get the glamour without the hasle of having to deal with artists hellbend on being artists. For the record: I also listen to contemporary artist, non-jazz as well, I'm just not into industryproducts. Take care, Tom
