At least one year ago, I heard a broadcast on NPR that was about an elementary school choir (Canadian?) that recorded popular music (possibly exclusively Beatles tunes) in the 1970's as a pedagogical exercise. First, I was wondering if anyone else had heard this broadcast. What program was it on? Second, are those recordings available? Was the NPR article given because these were being issued as CD's for sale? As trite as this all might sound, the recordings were fabulous. The NPR critic mentioned that the singing was done with such naive gusto that, regardless of technical quality, the spirit was overwhelming. I felt the same.
