If I remember my Beatles history correctly, it was when Paul heard the single version of "Long and Winding Road" that he finally gave up and called an end to his participation in the band. He really disliked the strings and choir that Spector added to his song. They are conspicuously absent from the "Naked" version, ditto from "Let It Be." I would think that if Paul made any requests at all, it was for the removal of those two items from those two songs before he would give his final approval. I don't mind the re-mix of that album, since it would not have been a great album no matter what they did to it. I just hope they don't start getting any funny ideas about Sgt Pepper or the White Album. That would be treading on sacred ground. -- All follow-ups are directed to the newsgroup rec.music.beatles.moderated.
