Re: Re: Why a moderated newgroup for The Beatles?

I guess I started on RMB in 94 or 95 (PeneeeLane)...back when May Pang was
still posting. She was kind enough to answer inside questions, and posters
started getting vicious with her.
I was with MSNBC at the time,(96-99) and posted some things before they hit the
air. Then, people would get vicious with me because they didn't like what we
were reporting, and get ugly with me for giving them the scoop before it went
on the air. There were other "insiders" who would totally get crucified by
people who didn't agree with what they knew, and fans who were simply contrary
to what the Beatles stood for. I mean, look back at all the hate posts about
Heather Mills. We (supposedly) love Paul and rip apart the woman he loves?
(Like some did as children with Linda and Yoko)
After all these guys did for us, and the reason we post, we have nothing better
to do than to show our gratitude than to dis the people they love? Come on...
The personal attacks have continued to get worse and worse over
there...thus...RMBM was born out of need.
I am very glad it is here.
Best,
Sharon Cobb
