It's nice to hear the remarkable clarity of these versions of the songs, and having alternate legitmate releases of the songs without Spector's production is very nice, especially "Long and Winding Road." But, I don't buy the hype that this is the version the Beatles intended all along. That makes for nice marketing I suppose, but I think by and large the original album (and the Glyn Johns boots maybe moreso) are far more reflective of what the whole Get Back project was supposed to be about. Not to mention that without Lennon's input, and who knows how much or little of Harrison's inut, that this could be the definitive version of the album. (Does anyone here know how much input George had on this project before his death?) I'd like to have seen a clean version of one of the Glyn Johns' "Get Back" albums. Oh well, I guess that's what the bootlegs are for. -- All follow-ups are directed to the newsgroup rec.music.beatles.moderated.
