The Greek in Berkeley is indeed still open, in fact this year is a big
anniversary and there's been a lot of local press about it. When I get a
chance, I'll see if I can find a link ar two. It's a pretty groovy
place, like an actual Greek amphitheatre of the olden, olden days. I've
seen Sting there, Lyle Lovett, (cough) Phish, my friend's graduation...
Would have loved to have seen the Dead there, that must have been sooooo
very cool.
Probably my favorite place to have seen Bruce was Yoshi's in Oakland.
For some of those sets, I had seats practically in his lap. I really dig
close proximity to the performers, seeing the interaction, looks on
their faces when something very cool is happening. The place I've always
wished Bruce would play is the Warfield in San Francisco. Many fond
memories of seeing Jerry there, for sure. (Many fond memories of an old
"friend" telling me about how great a venue it was when I was still a
neophyte and living back east...nevermind) Anyway, a very nice place.
