Try "Squarepusher". Squarepusher is phenemonial I have to say. Definitely a great place to start would be his earlier works. I recommend "Squarepusher - Feed Me Weird Things". You can probably find it still on Amazon if you are lucky. He uses drones throughout the Feed Me Weird Things album. One exciting track is Tundra where he has this nice drone synth dark vibe going and then some kickass dnb kicks in at a optimal part in the track. The sound is really nice.
You couldn't be more right. Tundra was the song that made me fall in love with electronic music. It won me over very quickly. Still get the chills listening to it.
