Once you are ready to go to the manufacturer with your finished
product, you can "pre-sell" the CDs to generate some cash.   Ways you
can market this to people...
-give them a discount on the regular price
-tell them they'll get the CD before its ever available to other
students and/or the public
-buying pre-sell "guarantees" they get a CD

My college group paid nearly all the manufacturing costs for our CD by
doing this.
