>From: "Lemmy" [EMAIL PROTECTED] >My main concern and question is whether the California model carb has been specifically adjusted to account for the EEC being installed. If so, I'm not sure what effect removing the EEC will have on performance, mixture, idle, etc. i.e. - do I need to tweak anything on the carb if I do remove the EEC? Idle mixture might be slightly richer with the evaporative emissions canister removed... The carburetor probably has an aluminum plug downstream of the throttle butterfly, either on top of the carb or underneath it... Centerpunch the plug, then take a small drill and twist it between your fingers if you don't have an electric drill handy. You don't have to drill very deep to pierce the thin plug. Then screw a small sheet metal screw into the hole you've made and pull the plug out with a pair of pliers. Then you can turn the idle mixture screw half a turn either way to see which way helps the throttle response...
