Stopped in a 35 zone recently, but my respectful (read 'kiss ass' -
musta sed "Yes, Sir" about 18 times in twp minutes) demeanor kept me
from getting cited for speeding. Instead I was ticketed for 'failure
to obey traffic control devices' which amounts to not paying attention
to a speed limit sign and cost me $104.

Had I been cited for the speed (and not just the freakin' sign), the
officer sed the ticket would've been for $160 plus points, plus having
the infraction recorded on my driving record, plus coal in my
stocking, plus...

Naw! You saying he was biased against ye? Couldn't be true.

Yep. But in my situation, I was the idiot. Wuz pulled over in a known
speed trap and even saw the officer setting there. Just wasn't
thinking. Minutes from home, fav'rit tune on the radio, foot on the
gas, and BOOM the brain just went.

Live and learn.

Maybe.

"Beertender, here's to livin' and learnin' enough to know when to buy
a drink! Round for the house, of course, please. I'm buying."
