AML is releasing a series of F2A's. Have a look at their website at www.aml.cz The Buffaloes are under News. Note that the one shown are a B-239, an F2A-1 and an F-2A-3, versions not made by Tamiya. Tamiya's is an F2A-2/B-339. I have some 1/72ns scale kits from AML. They are short run, and in my opinion not of the quality of the better short run manufacturers such as MPM, Special Hobby etc. For a "modeler with moderate skills" I would wait and see. It is possible, depending on the break down of the AML kits, to cross kit, i.e. get an F2A-1 or -3 by using the AML fuselage and the rest from Tamiya. This may be an easier route than cutting up the Tamiya fuselage and using resin conversion.
