Ah yes, under the spiritual protection of His late Excellency Norton the First,
Emperor of the United States and Protector of Mexico.

Seriously, whatever the other merits of that proposed name HSUS, its not
available for our use; IIRC one of the subdivisions or affiliates of the
Augustan Society used that name many years back.  (Nice simple arms: Argent
semee of stars Azure, essentially the canton of the US flag with tinctures
reversed.)  I don't know if that group (HSUS, that is; the Augustan Society is
still around) is still functioning, but even if it is defunct, I think we're
better off with an original name with no "history" that we can't claim as our
own.
