Just about all guns have a warning about using reloads. I am guessing
that it is about liability protection. The gun manufacture doesn't want
to be sued if someone loads a hot round and the gun blows up or uses old
brass and the head seperates and gets metal in someones eye.
I wouldn't worry about it. Just load to the standard specs for the
round and you should be fine. Just don't go running to the manufacture
for a warrenty repair if something goes wrong. I know a lot of people
that would have no problem lieing for a warrentee claim.

# Okay, I know this was probably covered a LONG time ago, but it's been
# a long time since I got my Ishy. Anyway, is it safe to handload for
# the Ishapor 2A .308? I've been handloading for my .270 and was
# recently given some dies for .308, just wanted to know if it was safe
# as long as I stuck to the published info. The owners manual I got with
# my Ishy said to use only 'factory ammunition' and not handloads, I
# believe the gun came from Navy Arms. But, my reloading manuals say
# their loads do not exceed SAAMI pressures, sssoooo, wouldn't they be
# safe in the ishy? Does anyone use handloads in their Ishy? Thanks for
# your time.
