I don't think he does.  I've seen "break" (shouldn't that be
"brake"?) designs that made me wonder if they weren't flash
suppressors in disguise.  You can reduce flash quite a bit simply by
dividing up the muzzle blast into numerous jets, increasing surface
area for rapid cooling of the gasses.  That reduces overall flash.
