you have to remember two things, one, they aren't making 500,000 of
these a year like Taurus revolvers.  two, they have a bit more
handwork in them than Taurus revolvers.  for this reason you probably
won't find one for under $300.

another option would be to purchase a regular flintlock rifle and cut
the barrel and stock down to make it a pistol.  there is not much to
removing a flintlock barrel, and most pistol stocks of the day looked
like a rifle stock that was cut off at the wrist and the bottom was
rounded.
