Well -- Sony wants to control the big DVD- recordable market in Japan.
Most people have a PS2 and videos are dead here. Most DVD-recrdables
are over 100,000 yen and the PSX will be in 2 models 79,000 and
90,000.

Most people in Japan want a video recorder/ TV tuner based replacement
and they don't care if there is NO mp3 - NO cybershot movies....you
can't do that on a PS2...if you want to buy a vaio.
