"Klonoa 2: Lunatea's veil" is also very good and not too difficult game. The controls are very easy for a small child (only "left", "right", "jump" and "throw"). This is the same kind of game as "Kirby" on the N64. But, it came out 3 years ago and it's hard to find it now. The games made by The Insomniacs and Naughty Dogs (the "Ratchet & Clank" and the "Jak & Daxter" series) are also good and fun platform games ... provided that destroying robots with grenades is not too violent for a 5 year old child. -Vincent
