Cube, PS2, Xbox... help me compare

I'm considering buying a GameCube, or PS2, or Xbox.  Can you tell me
the pros and cons of each?  I live in Brazil, and it's hard to get
straight advice on this kind of decision.  Salesmen here push whatever
product costs more, and will outright lie to influence your decision. 
Also, being here in Brazil, waiting for the "next generation" to come
out is not a good idea.  New products arrive here about a year after
they do in the states, and they're WAY too expensive.  I'm no hard
core gamer.  I had an N64 a few years ago and I was happy with it, and
never made it to the end of Doom.  The only disappointment I had with
my N64 was that Playstation seemed to have many more titles and they
were cheaper, too.  Any tips at all are appreciated.
