Okay, no one in my group has EVER played a Faceoff, but since I have the feeling that may change, here's the Faceoff question I have that wasn't answered by those Shaolin Shodown rules cards: According to those rules cards, there's one scene that occurs when a Faceoff begins. If one or the other Characters involved in a Faceoff leaves play or changes controllers during that scene, the Faceoff ends immediately (and we all know how 'immediately' is a magic word in the Shadowfist rules). So what happens to that scene if it still has effects to resolve when the Faceoff ends? Are they cancelled, or is this one place where the word 'immediately' is incorrect (or at best misleading)? Although the literal interpretation implies the former, it seems very counterintuitive (kind of like placing a Portal Nexus on a Character or even an Edge, which is legal for the same reason one used to be able to put Fusion Rifles on Sites before the errata*), and it would be the first Shadowfist convention that cancels an entire scene [actually, an Event that does that would be interesting!**]. Example: A Faceoff begins. Let's say it's the first thing done by Player A during his Main Shot in a duel, and no one responds to it. In the Faceoff scene, Player A Killdeers the opponent's Character. This is responded to by Player B with a Nerve Gas to smoke Player A's Character. Nothing further is added to the scene. The Nerve Gas resolves; Player A's Character is smoked. The Faceoff ends immediately. Now that Killdeer was part of the Faceoff that just ended, and it had yet to resolve. Is it effectively cancelled (by it never having the chance to resolve), or does it indeed resolve before the Faceoff ends (thereby rendering Player B's Character unable to inflict combat damage for the rest of the turn, which is important if Player A is planning any attacks)? - ZM *Card idea: We-Don't-Know-What-It-Is-But-We-Like-It State requires [Jam] [Jam], costs 2 Power Unique.
