Right. ("Zero damage" == no damage == nothing happened == no life loss, of
course.)

Right. It has to say 'damage' to be damage; direct life loss ("You lose 2
life") and 'life total setting/shifts' - Biorhythm, Lich, Blessed Wind,
Mirror Universe, etc. - aren't damage and can't be prevented by damage
prevention, or "caused to be dealt elsewhere instead" by damage-redirection.

Setting to a higher value = gaining. Setting to a lower value = loss. Setting
to the same value, which can happen, is neither a gain nor a loss.
