Only sanctioned events count toward your rating; casual games are not
recorded except temporarily as replays.

If they disconnect, you can adjourn the game if you prefer not to concede.
Though it doesn't really matter. You can also put a time limit on your games
so that, eventually, a disconnected opponent will lose to the clock.
