First, uninstall all the magic programs.  Re-install them.  Install
the manalink patch 1.3.2 which is available here:

http://members.cox.net/adonald1/magic/manalink.htm

That should fix it.  I seem to remember there are 3 official patches. 
DON'T install these.  Use the manalink patch and it should work.
