Originally, we were going to do something no one else would ever (because we would explain to anyone tempted how bad an idea it would be) - draft only BH (8 boosters). But, we finally decided to spice things up a bit when the environment seemed ridiculous by adding 2 boosters of CE. Why ridiculous? No combat, minimal plus bleed, minimal stealth, more intercept than God. Apparently, because everyone was aware of just how much intercept there was, people didn't run much (impossible to avoid drafting much). *Lots* of +1 stealth actions went through. People even got ousted. Only one prelim table out of a total of 6 went to time; the final also went to time, time being 2:30AM Monday morning. I actually ended up with a lot of cards I was trying to, failing to do well in the first game as my prey's deck was broken and the second when my second prey got out too many minions and Four Ride Forth after having played ~5 Reunion Kamuts. Nevertheless, after drafting the set (even tainted), there are some things I would have done differently. I overdrafted masters and votes, normally something I'm happy to get with other sets. The votes were mostly a problem due to the ubiquity of Vox Senis, even if you could legally play Deploy the Hand. I wanted to draft Bloodworks going in, but I didn't rate them high enough and thought that Reunion Kamut was as good; of course, either is top notch. Passed a Thuggee, which was painful at the time and dumb in hindsight. Underrated Circumspect Revelation. Set is full of annoying cards. Dominion was everywhere and, because of that, probably rate it the number one annoying card. Shakar, BTW, was useless as there was almost no combat and there would be times that everybody you wanted to fight was Black Hand. Zillah's Tears is even better than it seems as long as the low intercept strategy is taken - you can lose simply by losing out on the how many Tears you play front. Random: One game saw a player bring out more Corpse Balloons than I could count glancing at the table, Szechenyi had 8? My first game, my prey's sixth minion was Miguel Santo Domingo, no, his deck wasn't good or anything. I couldn't win even after bringing out Mariano, Miguel, and Menele in the second round. So what? Menele got Giant's Blooded. Predator didn't die because I gave him 8 pool with Extremis Boon right before time. Final saw a table split deal involving a vote that ... got blocked, Sela getting contested which was the only way to balance the table, and the winner fail to oust anyone when he gave away that he had a Conditioning prior to the possibility of Babble blockage. Unsanctioned and draft, so I don't think anyone cares about the actual results, such as who won. If anyone is curious about something, though, I think there's more that could be mentioned.
