Say it was barred Plate Armor (-3) [28,+10]. The 28 is the armor class of the armor and does not change but the +10 is the bonuses to Armor Class (AC) that the armor provides. When acid corrodes the armor, it will go down to +9. To 'fix' the armor you need to read an *Enchant Armor* scroll and if the spell is successful it will 'fix' the armor back to +10. The reason that you use *Enchant Armor* instead of Enchant Armor is that the former is actually 4 of the latter. To better you chances that the item that corroded is 'fixed', take off every piece of armor except the one you want to enchant and then read the scroll. Chances are it will work at least once. To prevent acid attacks from corroding your armor or shield, look for armor and shields with a (R) or a (RA) after the name of the armor or shield. Like a Barred Plate Armor (R) (-3) [28,+10]. RA is resistant to Acid, R is resistant to Acid, Fire, Cold, and Lightning. This armor will resist the acid attack with not damage to the item. Jerry W. Cox
