I expected as much, but sometimes one forgets the obvious. Hope for
another wand of digging, a recharge scroll for the one you have, or
something of teleport. Unlikely, I know, but you might get a nice
monster to provide before you die.

Or Okawaru could be unusually helpful and give you an artifact with
teleport ability.

I don't think so, but if you get digging again, it's good to know where
to go.

I don't know if it's a bug or just a strange feature.

If you wear your ring of sustenance, you should last a little longer,
giving the RNG a bit more time to bail you out... if you have the
patience to try to save this character.
