Believe it or not, I've lost Avatar characters at low to mid-levels--even they
can die from plain old hit-to-attack monsters attacking en masse, or from
attack forms for which no resistance/immunity has been coded.  As for
outstripping the Valar...the whole point of the experiment is seeing whether it
takes one to kill one.  :-)  (I've never won the game or legitimately found any
immunity items other than Thorin or Gorlim/Terror Mask; so playing "what if"
with ALL the beneficial flags sounded like an interesting idea, without having
to go into wizard mode and create artifacts for every equipment slot.)
